You spot it from afar, getting here.
Podere 1384 is a hamlet resting on a hillock from which you can enjoy a unique view on the Chianti Classico territory

Place

A hamlet dating back to the XIV century, with a 50-hectare estate bordering the Pesa river. You are just 30 km from Siena and Florence.
Meadows, vineyards, rolling hills on the horizon, hiding treasures of Art and Culture: this is the frame that welcomes and follows you.
Away from it all and in the center of it all.

Structure

Although extensive, the structure is also intuitively designed, making it effortless to reach any area.
The main building houses the reception and common areas.
The 6 suites are located on the first floor and are accessed from the outside.
The wellness area is directly below.
The swimming pool is on the outside.
Finally, there is the ‘Villa’, raised on the foundation of an ancient lookout tower. A space reserved for special events.

History

Initially we thought of a large private house with land to cultivate and live off. We dreamed of a sort of independence from everything.
Ethical independence, where life is never at the expense of anyone or the environment. But also energy independence, which is not the simple limitation of greenhouse gas emissions but a philosophy that leads to fully sustainable management of the land we occupy.
Over the years, by designing and building, we have understood that our dream had to be shared with others, that our longed-for independence had to feed and feed on people, from every part of the world.
This is how Podere 1384 was born.
Today we would like every guest walking through the Podere to feel the sense of this story, and to feel part of it. A story that straddles the past of a unique place in the world and the future that we must build together.

A number for a name.
It is a special date. In 1384 the Chianti League was officially recognized. In that year, the Republic of Florence accorded the League its first statute. The goal was to administer and protect a territory already considered unique.
The League’s emblem has the image of a black rooster on a golden background. A design that became, and with minor alterations still is today, the symbol of Chianti Classico wine.
The Chianti territory was so large and full of unique features that had to be divided into three ‘Terzieri’: Terziere di Radda, Terziere di Gaiole, Terziere di Castellina.
Podere 1384 belongs to the Terziere Castellina in Chianti.
